Under the mentorship of Professor Peter Black, Homi has set up and coordinated a large international collaboration from 19 North American and European institutions focusing on the outcomes of patients with bladder cancer treated with upfront chemotherapy followed by surgery.
RENAL SPARING - ROBOTIC PARTIAL NEPHRECTOMY AND CRYOABLATION
Homi’s other area of research focus is kidney sparing surgery. Cleveland Clinic is one of the pioneers of this field and during his time at the clinic, Homi published extensively in this area with over forty publications concerned with the outcomes of renal sparing procedures in particular robotic partial nephrectomy and cryoablation.
ROBOTIC RENAL SURGERY
Under the mentorship of Professor Jihad Kaouk, Homi contributed to a multi-institutional collaboration among five high volume robotic renal surgery centres in the United States including Cleveland Clinic, John Hopkins, Henry Ford , New York University and Washington University in St Louis.
Robot-assisted oncologic and reconstructive surgery
Other aspects of Homi’s research is concerned with innovations in robot-assisted oncologic and reconstructive surgery and this has translated to a few seminal published collaborations.
